« Lake Manyara National Park, Tanzania
Ernest Hemingway, responsible for instilling a love of Africa in many Europeans called the area around Lake Manyara, now the national park “The loveliest I have seen in Africa”. It’s floodplains spread out around the lake lined by verdant, high canopied groundwater forests and further into the backgrounds Tanzania’s mountains rise out of the plains. As with Africa’s other great parks the animal inhabitants are one of the major attractions, and here zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, and giraffes roam the plains and the forests resonate with primate howls and birds are everywhere.
