Travelguru Peter Nunn says:

Tenerife is most definitely an island of contrasts – the difference between the north and south is striking and not forgetting the island’s crowning glory right in the middle, the Mount Teide National Park. What that means for the visitor is that Tenerife really can deliver whatever type of holiday you are looking for…

The trick is finding the product that matches your expectations. Its down to personal preference in the end, but the bar has now been raised with the growing number of luxury and boutique hotels. The resorts on the south coast have the advantage of highly developed tourism facilities for those that want plenty of activities and entertainment on tap. If you prefer to be more independent and indulge in more cultural pursuits, I would definitely steer you more towards the north or some of the delightful rural properties on offer.
