This famous painting by Picasso is 'about' the Nazi bombing of the Basque town of Guernica during the Spanish Civil War.
It's big. Possibly even bigger than you're expecting it to be: 3.5 metre (11 ft) tall and 7.8 metre (25.6 ft) wide
It was created for the 1937 World Fair in Paris and is now housed in Madrid's Reina Sofia. The intention behind it's creation was to bring home to the rest of the world the brutality of what was happening in Spain at the time, but the impact of its monochromatic ______ is so great that it's become a symbol of the cost of war.
It's an important piece to see.

I have seen this painting and it is amazing. It takes up the size of a large room and has alarms all around it.

I didn't notice the alarms at all. I was just fascinated with the photos opposite, showing the painting's creation. It's amazing how it changed as Picasso worked on it.
