Bas-relief is a method of sculpting used all over the world, but the works from Persepolis, Iran stand out. Persepolis is a World Heritage Site, known for its ancient Iranian architecture and art. The bas-reliefs in the 5th century BC city convey the beliefs and values of a culture that was only rediscovered in 1620 after over a thousands years of lying in ruins.
