Sheltered lagoon and open sea sailing are on offer here. The wind is strongest during the summer months but it is generally a good destination for all year round wind and warm water. Perfect conditions for improving your windsurfing and the light winds of the afternoon make it a great place to learn to windsurf. The beach is packed with windsurfing centres but the best is the Neilson Centre – loads of equipment, nice rooms and good food. www.neilson.co.uk

An area located behind the spit has the strongest winds and is ideal for speed sailors and a nearby small bay is perfect for freestyle windsurfing.
There are windsurfing instruction facilities located at Dahab, and locations suitable for windsurfing of all standards. Dahab is also known for its reef diving.
