The section of the Highline Trail that everyone knows, and raves, about is the 7.6mile scenic stretch also called 'The Garden Wall'. The whole thing winds though this mountain scenery for a lot longer – from Logan Pass to Fifty Mountain Camping Ground which is about 20 miles. 'The Garden Wall' finishes at the Granite Park Chalet, and is a relatively gentle route along the tops of the tree line – in the open where you've just the sky for backdrop. While this is an excellent trail for people not used to a lot of walking, or for those looking to catch glimpses of the local wildlife: cougars, black and grizzly bears, big horn and mountain goats, elk and ground squirrels can be spotted, it's not a good trail if you like peace and quiet – it's one of the park's most popular.
