The countryside you will see on this walk is truly striking. The high waterfalls and gorges, crystal caves and some of the highest peaks in the Carpathian Ranges accompany you along your journey, ever changing and dramatic. This is a little visited area of a little visited country rich in environmental majesty all shaped over time by the ebb and flow of water from the glaciers foot to the torrents pouring off the waterfalls. Stay overnight in small towns set on open alpine meadows and wake up to the immensity of the views here, then spend your days scaling steep paths towards the rocky pinnacles. If you’re adventurous you’ll want to summit the regions highest peak, Fatransky Krivan. There are huts approaching it each with it’s own heavenly view. On your return you can soothe your tired limbs in the Basenova thermal baths. Also accessible on walking tracks in the High Tatras is ancient Klastorisko Monastery and the medieval town of Levoca.
