Sandy beaches, coastal forests, estuaries, and beautiful lagoons are merely a few features of the Wild Coast Walk. Spend five days or more travelling from Mazeppa Bay in the Transkei to Haga Haga in the Eastern Cape and explore the untouched terrain of South Africa. With plenty of hotels along the way, you won’t be at a loss for a comfortable nights sleep, or a hardy meal to keep you energized. The trail extends from the Umtamvuma River in the north to the Kei River in the south, encompassing a landscape of green hills speckled with huts and river valleys that roll down to long sandy beaches sheltered by steep cliffs. A majority of the terrain can only be visited by those who hike it, and the only evidence of other travellers you will see are footprints in the sand as you make your way down the beach.
