Beautiful Walking Panoramas in the Chiemagu Alps

Listed under Walking in Munich, Germany.

The guide calls Chiemagu the jewel of the Bavarian Alps for they are exactly as you imagine Bavaria to be, wooded hillsides leading up to high green alpine pastures and white rocky peaks, small goat trails leading you through the serene alpine panorama. Even the sounds are as you would expect from the photos is the guides, bubbling brooks, distant cowbells and the wind against the crags. Walking bliss. This is a nice place to come to get a bit of peace and get passionate about nature. And after your daily hikes you can return to your chalet lodgings for some rich food and even better local bier. There are paths for walkers of all standards in the Chiemagu Alps, if you’re more a stroller you can wander between the pretty local villages along ye olde worlde scenic roads and if you’re seeking adventure you can scale a number of the local peaks, including the big one Wendelstein, if you‘re not that into hiking but like the view, the Kampenwand has a cable car to the top. A few stand out points are Hohenaschau, a medieval fortress protecting the town from invaders, Schlossrinn Waterfall and Inzell which is one of the most picturesque towns I have ever stayed in. If you enjoy the finer things in life the playboy town Aschau has a three Michelin star restaurant and a two nice hotels.
