‘Chengdu Panda Base’

This is one of the most accessible panda sanctuaries. All natural environments and panda information, what many people are really hankering after is a gawk at the pandas, and even better one of the babies. The Panda Base won’t disappoint you, but you’re frequently reminded how seriously we should all be taking panda preservation and conservation. The pandas may look like they’re grinning and here they’re able to flourish in as natural a habitat the team can put together, but the research element is the bit that helps the pandas living on the other side of the enclosure, so a bit of patience and respect from visitors doesn’t go amiss. These aren’t ‘performing’ pandas you know! But you will see them eating sleeping and playing and you used to be able to hold them for a fee.
