The Naschmarkt is a 1.5 km open market where you can find everything from fresh fruits and vegetables to milk, baked goods, herbs, cheese and other exotic treats from around the world.  There are also lively shops with clothes and shoes for sale and a variety of small restaurants that specialize in sushi, seafood and traditional Viennese food.

On Saturdays, a flea market sets up shop adjacent to the market, giving you even more of a chance to find what you're looking for.  The Naschmarkt has become a regular attraction, luring natives and tourists alike since the 16th century.

Food and drink in the Nashmarkt

The Nashmarkt is an apparent choice for traditional and fresh food.

I enjoyed the food at Gasthaus Ubl at Pressgasse 26

Franz is a cozy local bar with friendly service.
