The University of Wisconsin is one of the most prestigious schools in the United States. It is ranked 11 in best universities in the United States. Of its 38 programs at the school 16 are ranked in the top 10 nationally. This means that the University of Wisconsin is ranked second only to Berkley for number of programs in the top 10.

The campus is located in Madison and is an hour away from the State Capitol. The university is one of the top party schools in the nation and was ranked number three in Playboy's list of party schools. The university has 20 different schools and employs 2,054 faculty members. Some notable alummni include Tim Keck and Christopher Johnson, the founders of the Onion, James Thomson, who first isolated and cultured human embryonic stem cells, actress Joan Cusak and former vice president Dick Cheney.
