The Peabody Hotel is located in Downtown Memphis. This luxury hotel is home to the famous tv-stars the “Peabody Ducks” that live on the rooftop of the hotel. These ducks have been featured on such TV shows as the “Oprah Winfrey Show”, “The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson” and were even featured in People magazine.

The ducks resided there when the General Manager of the hotel at the time, Frank Schutt, returned from Arkansas with 3 decoy ducks that tricked 4 ducks into believing them. The ducks now play in the fountain every day much to the guest’s amusement. The ducks have a “duckmaster” who is one of only 3 in the world. Many celebrities have taken the position in a guest role including Paula Deen, Molly Ringwald and Kevin Bacon.
