This is a great place to bring your family to for a fun ride in the middle of Washington DC.
The Smithsonian Carousel was built by Allan Herschell in 1947 and originally lived in Baltimore but moved to DC in 1981. It has 60 horses, 2 chariots, a dragon and a spinner tub, replicated from an early carousel. It is fully restored and fully functional.
The Carousel is located right in front of the Arts and Industries Building as well as the Smithsonian Castle.
