After days of envisioning throwing chunks of raw meat into the bloody, gnashing jaws of the resident Great White, I was utterly deflated to find out it had been released “for research” just a couple of weeks earlier. On the up side, there was a kelp “forest”, an extensive collection of jellyfish, and windows all along one side of the lower ground floor that peer out into the seal tank. There are also interactive exhibits to encourage learning about plankton, molluscs, coral etc. This aquarium is probably great for kids, but at $25 for an adult ticket, and with a distinct lack of veracious predators it’s a let-down for anyone bored of seals.

(Since I wrote this I have been informed they now have another Great White in captivity)
