Kununurra Celebrity Tree Park

Kununurra is pretty much in the middle of nowhere, so the locals like to make a bit of a fuss over any celebrities who like to get this far off the beaten track and visit – and they’ve come up with a unique was of doing that: getting the visiting celebrity to plant a tree. Once planted the trees get plaques – it’s Kununurra’s equivalent of the Hollywood walk of fame – you know you’ve arrived when you have a tree in the Celebrity Tree Park. Some of the lucky few are Rolf Harris, HRH Princess Anne, John Farnham and Baz Luhrmann.

It’s a nice quite spot for a stroll if you’re up this way.
