The Kortright Centre for Conservation is Ontario’s premiere environmental and renewable energy education centre and, if you are interested in doing your part, is well worth a visit. The Kortright Centre combines a natural oasis with some of the most cutting-edge sustainable education programs in Canada.
Hosting 135,000 visitors annually, the centre offers over 50 environmental education programs aimed at everyone – school kids to the general public, trades and businesses. One part of the centre that has drew most plaudits is the Power Trip Trail, which links a variety of demonstrations on renewable energy, energy efficiency, waste water treatment and sustainable building design. So if you’re keen to gain some knowledge on how to stop Global Warming, then the Kortright Centre is a great stop on your Canada trip - it might make you feel a bit guilty about the flight over contributing to your carbon footprint, but will help you restore the deficit!
