In the tourist town of Bakau, Gambia, the Katchikali Crocodile pool, discovered hundreds of years ago by the natives is home to more than a hundred crocodiles. Considered a magical place, as are other crocodile pools’, bathing in the water is believed to cure infertility and bestow good fortune. Sacred rituals are occasionally held, with the drumming and dancing resulting in very atmospheric moments.

Gambia was a great experience

I suffer from a few female related health problems causing some difficulties in conceiving. I now have great belief in the fertility powers here at Katchikali. Back in May 2009 a friend and I visited the crocodiles whilst there we went and stood in the the area were the crocodiles birth to take pictures,we were then informed by our guide that we would be getting some babies soon, we both laughed in disbelief and assumed he was just giving good banter. By June and July we were both pregnant and shocked as I was not actually trying.

How much do it cost?

How much do the take for entree and is it a nice palace to visit?
