While visiting colonial Williamsburg, it's essential to make at stop at the Jamestown Settlement. Jamestown was one of the first English settlements in North America. Today you can visit James Fort, a recreation of the 1607 fort of the original settlers. Structures with thatched roofs display how life was in the 17th century and there are members of staff dressed in traditional clothing. Near the fort are reproductions of three ships that took colonists to Virginia in the 17th century.
