One of the three oldest historical castles in its area, the Devin Castle dates back to the 5th century BC. It is located in a beautiful and prime location- on a cliff 212 meters high, overlooking the confluence of the Danube and Morava Rivers. Used as a fortress in the times of the Celts and Romans and playing an important part in the 8th century during the frequent wars between Moravia and Frank, the Devin Castle has thousands of years of history to it. The palace was added in the 15th century.
