It’s well known that the Danube cuts this city, more than any other, in half, the quiet hills of Buda on one side and the buzz of Pest on the other, and on both sides the city’s most beautiful buildings crowd the shores. From the Matthias Church to the Hungarian Parliament, Margaret Island, Gresham Palace and the Chain Bridge and Gellert Hill behind it, taking a river trip is like conducting a role call of Budapest’s best architecture. So it’s inexcusable to come to Budapest and not see the city from Danube level.

There are all sorts of cruise options, from morning tea to lunch to cocktails to dinner, and it goes on - you can hear music, get a commentary or be left in peace, plate of local delicacies in hand.
