Anyone who loves ice cream knows about Ben & Jerry's deliciously unique flavors. Ben and Jerry opened their first ice cream shop in 1978. It was a renovated gas station but it was the start of a money-making franchise. Today, the Ben & Jerry's factory is situated in the Green Mountains of Vermont and is open to visitors. Guided factory tours take you into the ice cream-making process and stop at rooms such as the FlavoRoom where you get to try tons of samples. At the end of the tour stop in the Scoop Shop and gift shop and get yourself some ice cream souvenirs.

The Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream Factory is located in the Green Mountains of Vermont in Waterbury. The guided tours that are offered will take you through the educational and fun process of the making of one of America's favorite ice cream brands. Your tour will start off in the Cow Over the Moon theater with a movie, then the glassed-in mezzanine, where you will be able to watch the workers below during the production process and then for a sample flavor of the day! The grounds also contain a gift shop and scoop shop. During the summer there is also many outdoor activities including the Flavor Graveyard, cows grazing and large areas for picnics. The tour through the factory lasts for 30 minutes and are $3 for adults, $2 for seniors and kids younger than 12 are free. The factory is open 7 days a week all year round except on major holidays.
