Barcelona Zoo has been open since 1892, originally housing the privately collected animals of a wealthy local man. Nowadays, it’s just as concerned with showcasing its important conservation work and research, running children’s events, lectures, field trips and training courses.

Barcelona Zoo

An amazing place! Never had I experienced such wildlife.

My self and my family went in August 2007. We loved the dolphins, my daughter was able to get wet and see them close up, nearly able to touch them! FANTASTIC!!!!

Its a good idea to be patient and wait in the queue for the dolphin show to start, as it gets very busy, we were about 50th in line, but also got front seat. I'm glad we waited.

It was very hot, and I would recommend hiring a buggy to drive around in. And don't forget your camera & a drink.

We are looking to go back again next year.
