You don’t have to scramble up the side of a mountain to enjoy breathtaking views of Arizona’s red rock landscape, as the Airport Mesa Trail is a short, relatively flat walk. The scenery on the actual trail is typical for that of the region- flat and shrubby with a few gnarled trees twisting their way upward.

Even the ground here is a dusty, clay-colored red. It is lucky the trail is so short because you will not want to wait to see the view from the top- layered red rocks carpeted by masses of green bushes at their feet await those who visit.
