Known as a White Village (Pueblo Blanco) for its traditionally white-washed buildings, Mijas is a charming mountain town. A surprising number of quality golf courses have recently sprung up around the area, drawing in new crowds of visitors. Flamenco lessons are held every Wednesday in the main village square, and tours from the town hall are available every Saturday from September until May. Various festivals and celebrations are held all year round and add to the agreeable atmosphere of this traditional Spanish village.
