Less than a thousand people inhabit this tiny municipality in Mallorca. Prehistoric men once made the mountainous seaside terrain their home and their ancient artifacts are now on display at Deia’s Archaeological Museum. A number of churches and museums from a variety of centuries are scattered throughout the town, notably the 13th century Monastery of Miramar. There are also a number of scenic spots, including the Cove of Deia and the once-island Sa Fordada. It’s a charming village to visit, and there are a number of luxurious hideaway hotels in and around the area.
