I haven't added any images to this listing because I want you to have a look at the map opposite, select the Hybrid view option and close on in until you can see why I had to include this hotel on our list of Unusual Places to Stay. Inside it's just a Holiday Inn, but outside it's shaped like a crocodile and located in one of the world's most unique places – Kakadu National Park – a place where crocs rule and people are occasionally eaten by them. Naturally you enter through the mouth – that makes sense right? Once in the mouth there's a foyer done up to mimic the wetlands that you'll be able to visit on your stay, and beyond that, off the courtyard belly, are 110 guest rooms.
It's just a Holiday Inn, but a pretty controversial one, that really reflects both the taste and sense of humour of the Northern Territory.
