Fur 'N' Feathers Rainforest Tree Houses

Listed under Unusual Places to Stay in Queensland, Australia.

The Fur ‘N’ Feathers resort may be made up of tree houses constructed from the wood of the rainforest, but don’t be fooled, there is nothing rustic about them. The tree houses have electricity, running water and telephones. The wood is beautifully polished and frames huge glass windows that give you amazing views out on to the surrounding forest, the river and of course all the wildlife that swings, flies and scampers around the 100 acres of private rainforest in which the tree houses are located. The rooms are all en-suite with Jacuzzis in the bathroom, fresh sheets are provided and so all you need to bring are provisions and drinks. You can relax in the tub, in front of the fire or in a hammock on the balcony and soak up the rainforest atmosphere. The surrounding area is over run by animals some of which may actively seek contact with you and let you feed them. Expect to see tree frogs, platypus, possums, wallabies, cassowaries, hundreds of different types of birds and if you’re really lucky, the rare tree kangaroos. However you don’t need to worry about uninvited guests; the hotel assures you that there will be no mosquitoes, no flies and especially no crocodiles to share a room with.
