Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony

Listed under Miscellaneous in Oslo, Norway.

According to the wishes of the late, great Alfred Nobel, the Nobel Peace Prize is not awarded in Stockholm like the Nobel Prize, but rather it is handed out in Oslo. This epic ceremony in Oslo City Hall awards, in the words of Nobel himself, “the person who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses.” The Nobel Peace Center has been open in Oslo since 2005 and highlights past winners of the prize and the message behind the prestigious award’s meaning.
