Asturias has something for everyone. The art and architecture that you find throughout the region represent the Paleolithic people who first lived here hundreds of thousands of years ago, as well as relics of the Roman empire and jewels of the Renaissance. From the Prehistoric Park to the 13th century Cathedral of San Salvador to the San Chuís hill fort, the many provinces of Asturias are mines of historical and cultural importance. The natural beauty of the many parks and beaches are equally impressive, as is the abundance of traditional fiestas and festivals unique to the area.
