The Hollyford Track in New Zealand changes scenery faster than the time it takes for a trekker to tie their boots. From thick dense forests to glaciers, this trek has all a nature enthusiast could want. Being almost completely downhill, the trek is perfect for beginners. It follows the Hollyford River which starts in the Southern Alps and ends in the Tasman Sea. The vegetation and wildlife are as diverse and changing as the scenery. Mountains, glaciers, rainforests, rivers, lakes, waterfalls, reefs and sand-dunes make up the 40-50 mile trek. The areas two highest peaks can also be seen while on the trek-Mt. Tutoko (2746m) and Mt. Madeline (2537m). Jet boat rides down the river and small airplane rides are also offered from different programs that go on the treks. Being a collaboration of natures most beautiful aspects- snow capped mountains, ever-changing coasts, humid rainforests, exotic animals, cascading waterfalls, pristine lakes and thick wild forests- Hollyford Track could turn anyone into a trekker and pulls people to experience the wonders this area of New Zealand has to offer.
