Listed under Trekking in Lake District, United Kingdom.
For those who like journeys “with a purpose,” this 190-mile hike from Coast to Coast is definitely a must-do. From the Irish Sea to the North Sea, you can explore the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales, and the North Yorkshire – with spectacular mountain landscapes full of literary and historical references.
Starting in St Bees, we hike through Patterdale Valley reaching Kidsty Pike, the highest point on the walk at 2,558 feet on day 6. We continue across the Pennine Chain, Dales National Park, and moors to Robin Hood's Bay. Along the route, storybook villages, clear streams and meadows, definitely a classic. June through September. Expect rain at any time!
