The relaxing atmosphere, stately homes and well-kept gardens make Viña del Mar one of Chile's most popular resort towns. This is a great town to get away and enjoy days of lying on the sandy beaches, but the water’s pretty cold and not the best for swimming. Other draws include shopping, the Casino Municipal, and the Quaint Verger Park. The Musical Festival during the third week of February is another highlight of this relaxing seaside resort.
