Listed under Towns in Bolivia.
This small town in the valley between two mountains in the Bolivian Andes is a centre for trekking and climbing. Many use it as a base camp, yes, it’s small and remote, but it also has several small hotels and is in an ideal spot for Andes adventures at the northern end of the Cordillera Real. This mountain range stretches for around 125kms and has six summits over 6,000m high, including the two Sorata is tucked between.
