A World Heritage site with 8 UNESCO monuments, the former capital of the Western Roman Empire has a lot to offer, famous for its Roman, Byzantine and Romanesque architecture. It is the home of the Dantean museum, the Basilica of San Vitale, and the Mausoleum of Galla Placidia, among literally dozens more historically significant sites. Cycling is a popular way to get around seeing all the churches, museums, castles, gardens, mausoleums - the list goes on!
