A shattering earthquake in the late 70s has not slowed Kotor. Tucked away into a gulf, this coastal town lures visitors with its preserved medieval old town and overlooking mountain range. Historically a vibrant trading post, Kotor is a typical Mediterranean hub, with town structures dating back from the Middle Ages, its own maritime museum and supreme bay views.

Set at the base of Mount Lovcen, Kotor’s ramparts stretch high above the town centre to form an ancient stone border. The old town itself is an intertwined network of winding promenades and alleyways, lined with ash-colored facades and lounging palm trees. Grand squares puncture these streets, fluttering colourful canopies of exclusive boutiques. The towering St Tripun’s Cathedral is a stately example of Kotor’s heritage status, its two Roman towers dominating the old town pathways, housing an interesting treasury of artifacts.
