With the likes of Floyd Mayweather, Ricky Hatton, Joe Calzaghe, Bernard Hopkins and Oscar De La Hoya on the scene, boxing has enjoyed a resurgence in popularity over recent years. While Madison Square Gardens enjoyed the glory of the 1940s with the greats Joe Louis, Sugar Ray Robinson and Jake LaMotta all fighting in the famous ring; the bright lights and casinos of Las Vegas have been attracting the current crop of fighters.

The MGM Grand Arena has become one of the venues of choice for the biggest fights, with the 2008 bout between Floyd Mayweather and Ricky Hatton becoming a classic between two undefeated fighters – Mayweather knocking Hatton down twice with the sheer power of his hooks. The atmosphere was palpable as the two fighters went for each other, resulting in one of the most entertaining boxing matches in recent memory. To witness the exhilarating spectacle of an MGM Grand fight expect to pay a lot for seats, especially if you don't want to view it through a monitor.

The MGM is not the only arena for great boxing matches in Las Vegas. Mandalay Bay hosts some of the biggest match-ups, but again binoculars will be required for the cheaper seats, but many consider the Orleans as the best place for Las Vegas boxing thrills. These Orleans fights bring with them a devoted crowd that really get into it, and the decent pricing means a good view of the ring and a solid night of boxing.
