Camber's beach is creatively called: Camber Sands instead of regular old Camber beach, but the sea and the sand are the same either way and in this case the sand is golden and sweeping, rising up to a large system of sand dunes. The long flat stretches of sand that are revealed when the tide goes out are popular with kitesurfers, kiteboarders and kite buggying, which has a designated area near the Jury's gap car park. If you hear gunfire you don't need to duck, there's a military base nearby, and interestingly the beach was used for the D-Day landings in the film 'The Longest Day'. It also stood in for the Sahara in the film 'Carry on Follow that Camel'
