Scotland's Royal Museum has satisfyingly diverse collections of everything from early fossils to the Dolly the Sheep, the first successfully cloned mammal from a cell. As you would expect, there are good displays covering the breadth of Scottish history and culture. It's all housed in a spectacular building designed by Francis Fawk, architect of the Royal Albert Hall.
