This museum, part of the Smithsonian, contains the largest collection of artifacts related to history air and spacecrafts in the entire world. The National Air and Space Museum also educates about planetary, terrestial geology and geophysic sciences.

The museum contains such historic pieces as the Enola Gay, the Wright 1903 Flyer the Spriit of the St. Louis, the Apollo 11 command module, a lunar rock sample and the Space Shuttle Enterprise. Other current exhibitions include Beyond: Visions of our Solar System, Barron Hilton Pioneers of Flight, Moving Beyond Earth, The Wright Brothers and the Invention of the Aerial Age and America by Air.

The National Air and Space Museum is open all year round except for December 25 and is located indoors. Admission to the museum is free.
