This concentration camp memorial isn't located in Berlin, it's slightly out of the city but is very accessible if you have a rail pass. Sachsenhausen, was known as one of the most notorious death camps of the Nazi Empire and it's enough to make you forget about all the movies and books you've read about the Holocaust- this is something most people say you have to experience for yourself to truly understand the magnitude of. The museum and memorial's informative and chilling facts and exhibits tell the story then hundreds of personal accounts give you an idea of what the people went through.
Entrance to the museum is free, but if you may get more out of the experience if you had a map and an audio guide which will cost a few euros.
