Hong Kong Police Museum

Listed under Museums in Hong Kong, China.

As with any big city the Police Force have had a lot of work to do in Hong Kong and have played a big part in shaping the city’s story. The four main galleries of the museum give an idea of the main challenges the Police Force have had to face, aside from a gallery showing current exhibitions, one of the galleries looks at the Triad Societies and another the narcotics trade, with a replica heroin manufacturing lab.

One of the coolest exhibits – if a bit grizzly – is the head of the ‘Sheung Shi Tiger’ who was shot after mauling a policeman in 1915, another popular display contains examples of counterfeit notes.

The museum has been inserted into an old Police Station which is another point of interest if you like to find out the finer points of law.
