...That said, my favourite holiday destination has to be Barbados – Sir Garfield Sobers's birthplace – where everyone is friendly, laid-back, easy-going and, most importantly, cricket-mad. I've stayed at Sandy Lane (001 246 444 2000, www.sandylane.com) a number of times and it's a terrific place to spend a few days. It's got it all: golf, a spa, beautiful grounds and great food. It's not cheap, mind you – I can barely afford it myself these days...
