Set amongst the mountains and meadows 1,500ft up Mount Kuchumaa, 3 miles from the US border, this 3,000-acre destination spa is commonly known as the premier in North America. A trip must be from Saturday to Saturday. There are 40 miles of trails to hike, and 75 fitness classes and activities, including Tai Chi, yoga, meditation, dance, tennis, even a labyrinth. Evenings provide classes, workshops (eg. Ayurveda and Feldenkrais) and star-gazing. The spa offers aromatherapy, scrubs, hot stones, scalp and facial treatments, wraps and hydrotherapy. At 6:15am people happily are up and walking 4 miles to help in the organic vegetable garden.
