This small, specialised and homely day spa in the Yorkshire village of Mirfield offers a range of holistic and therapeutic treatments. Many of the visitors - all women on the day we were there - seem to have therapy rather than beautification in mind. They come to the spa for me-time, for emotional strengthening, and time out from their busy lives. Eastthorpe does what it intends to do perfectly - it is a day retreat with an emphasis on well-being and relaxation. The Eastthorpe holistic facial was possibly the only facial I have ever had where I woke myself up by snoring! It is a perfect place to chill and relax, and return to the world invigorated.

Actually, health has a great impact on our life. Fitness is as much important as water. For digestive problems, diet plays an important role. Many transient digestive problems are even caused by improper diet or certain foods. Most commonly, people suffer from constipation , bloating or diarrhea. The digestion is then either too slow or too fast. Digestive foods such as fennel, whole grains and various juices, such as naturally cloudy apple juice or sauerkraut juice can help here. In addition, herbs and spices have a digestive effect. In case of diarrhea, however, they should not be taken. The symptoms could be exacerbated by this. The diet for digestive problems should be easily digestible in any case. Certain foods such as cabbage, onion and beans, on the other hand, have a beneficial effect on the digestive system. Just as unpleasant may first be fiber . Dietary fiber is abundant in raw foods and whole grains. Digestion needs to get used to it, but benefits in the long run. Thanks

I really don't do this, review stuff, but I felt compelled to write to share my experience, really, I always take this type of thing with a huge pinch of salt but ventured off with an open mind and a heavy heart! I think you can over research something, it was word of mouth that sent me in their direction. To be honest it started at the booking process, they originally couldn't book me in but were so apologetic and delightful on the phone I was willing to wait, in the meantime I contacted some of the bigger branded spas in Yorkshire - one word to describe them and their receptionists - RUDE! I decided to wait and I went to Eastthorpe on the first available date they gave me. I had a wonderful time, it was faultless from my fabulous welcome to the treatments, food, environment everything was superb, you really do feel so welcome and I made some new friends, we have promised ourselves to return and meet up if not quarterly at least twice a year. I spent lunchtime earwigging the other tables and couldn't really hear much over the ooh aaah, what amazing value for money etc inbetween mouthfulls. I needed me time and they delivered, it was all about me and they were so gratious, I love the fact that they have clocks but they don't work and that there isn't the regimented print outs and fandangled way of getting into lockers, old school, impeccable manners and just superb!

From the moment I contacted this spa, nothing was too much trouble, they seem to have won a lot of awards and my friends and I were not surprised - the treatments, ambience, food, environment are just to die for - really a must - please do go and try and it out, but be warned the waiting list is long, but they do say the best things are worth waiting for.
