I’m a scenery buff and I’ve always wanted to board in the Dolomites and Madonna di Campiglio is probably the best place to do it. It’s more popular with the tourist crowd than serious boarders, but there’s plenty of space and I found some surprisingly good runs. The Ursus park near the Groste summit is probably the best park, it’s got standard obstacles, but well looked after and it wasn’t too busy. A lot of people look down on Madonna di Campiglio because it’s sunny, pretty and touristy but if you’re not too hard core you’ll have a fantastic week or two here, there’s not too many queues and the parties are legendary. There’s also some incredible views and pretty good snow coverage.
