La Plange is another resort I’ve chosen for the setting. The town bit has been built in front of a crevassed mountain range that looks as if it’s been poured over and folded with slightly brittle white chocolate. Lots of people think the town is ugly, which is probably true compared to some of the more traditional village resorts, but it’s dramatic. I think the runs are better than a lot of people who judge the look of the town too quickly, think and there is plenty of different types of terrain to explore. Because it’s not too popular you won’t have any trouble finding a great spot to yourself, however you may not see too many spectacular tricks, but I would highly recommend it for beginners. There are lots of fun blue runs that will help you build up your confidence. There are three parks and all of them are pretty well set up and maintained, but the best is probably Cappella Park. Although not really part of why I chose to include la Plagne, they have an uber cool ex-Olympic bobsled run you can try out which I highly recommend you do. The French season is between December and April.
