Kirkwood has the highest altitude of any of the Lake Tahoe resorts at 2380metres. The highest lift heads up to 2990m. The varied look and high quality of the natural terrain have given cause for some people to call this largest natural snowpark in the US – the chutes, wide bowls, drops and long ridges and gullies are all larger than life versions of snowpark play things. They do have a snowpark as well though, it's got a half pipe, table top jumps and a snake.
Along with Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows, Kirkwood is known for decent spring falls.
