The name comes from the visibility – which is excellent :10 to 30 metres. Not only is the water clear, the bay is also protected from currents that could stir things up. The water is cool for this part of the world, which has been good for coral growth, and the coral here is in excellent condition.
There's a big rock guarding the entrance to the bay, and inside the waters are kept calm, while outside it's a bit more dramatic – which means this is a good spot for all levels of diver. The coral formations are best protected in the Inner Bay and this is where most of the marine live chooses – wisely – to live or to gather. This life includes tuna, small sharks, eagle rays, schools of surgeonfish, catfish, eels and giant angel fish.
The cliffs on the edge of the bay have been colonised by bats who live in a massive cave here.
