This is another relatively expensive Fijian resort, but again the snorkeling and off shore diving are incredible. You can dive or snorkel from the beach right in front of the main portion of the resort, called Jayne’s Lane, and expect to see an excellent display of the soft coral Fiji is renowned for and large communities of sea horses and ghost pipe fish, among other species. Lalati’s Beqa Lagoon has a magnificent barrier reef, one of Fiji’s largest and it’s crystal clear waters make it easy to admire it’s wonders. This reef is about 200 miles long and there are too many creatures living on it to mention them all, but on my last trip I saw around 120 different species of fish over five days snorkeling. If you’re able to stay on the island I would also recommend you spend a day snorkeling off nearby, tiny, Storm Island.
